Brief Description
Award, clock in presentation case; presented to Ron Clarke in 1966. Rectangular frosted glass clock face, numbers represented by metal and enamel figures, shoes, clocks, Australian Coat of Arms and representation of the globe. Clock sits in gold brackets on black marble two-tier base; two plaques on base with engraved inscriptions: "RON CLARKE / 1966", "ACADEMIE DES SPORTS / PRIX DU PRESIDENT". Maker's mark on face: "MELLERIO / PARIS". Clock has sustained some damage; glass fractured at lower left and right corners; hour and second hands detached from face. Housed in purpose built red presentation case (1994.3065.2). Loose hands wrapped in small bag within case.
