Brief Description
An oval, gold-like badge, from a series of badges commemorating past Olympic Games participated in by the U.S.S.R., and released in anticipation of the 1980 Moscow Games. This badge features a relief impression of the poster from the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games. Below is a relief impression of an Olympic Gold medal. Two red, black and green striped bands emanate from the top of the medal device, and imply the function of a medal ribbon. Inscription around the rim reads: KHEL'SINKI/SOVETSKIE SPORTSMENY NA OLIMPIISKIKH IGRAKH. (trans. Helsinki, Soviet Sportsmen at Olympic Games.)
