Brief Description
Two identical cream coloured menus from the 1953 Davis Cup Challenge Round Dinner hosted by the Lawn Tennis Association of Australia, printed with green and gold text and an image if the Davis Cup trophy and the Royal Emblem, the front cover reads "LAWN TENNIS ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA / DAVIS CUP / Challenge Round / DINNER / EIIR / HOTEL AUSTRALIA, MELBOURNE, 31st DECEMBER, 1953" ; the inside front page reads " LAWN TENNIS ASSOCIATION OF AUSTRALIA / DINNER / TO CELEBRATE THE CONCLUSION OF THE OF THE / DAVIS CUP CHALLENGE ROUND / 1953 / PLAYED AT KOOYONG, 28th, 29th, 30th DEC., 1953 / BETWEEN / AUSTRALIA / AND / UNITED STATES OF AMERICA", the following pages include a list of Toasts to be made, the Menu The Teams, the final page is for Autographs there are nine signatures made with either ink or led pencil, the names on both menus include, L. Hoad, M. Rose, Ken Rosewall and R. Hartwig of the Australian team and H.Richardson, Tony Trabert, S. Ellsworth Davenport and Norman Brookes among others.
