Brief Description
Soft cover, tan coloured booklet held together with two staples at the spine. The title, printed in brown ink, reads, "INTERNATIONAL CRICKET / CENTENARY OCCASION", with a drawn image of two hands, one holding a cricket ball, and a set of wickets, a batting pad, bat and ball in between. A decorative border with Shell oil emblems at each corner surrounds the cover. The booklet commemorates the first International Cricket Match played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 1862, the history of which being written in the form of a story inside. The publication was commissioned by the Shell Company of Australia Ltd. The "LA RONDE" service station stamp appears on the cover in purple ink.
