Brief Description
Black and white photo with brown window-mount, in ornate wide carved wooden frame with gold recess. Photo is of a young boy with fists on hips, standing with a man in a suit in front of a 'sea' studio background. Handwritten title reads 'Victorian Junior Swimming Champion/ Season 1914-15', under the photo is written 'C.H. Esler (14 years) Winner of 50 yds- 100 yds- 200 yds (twice) 300 yds (twice)'. On reverse of backing is an upside-down photograph of a seated young man in military uniform, holding a scroll, with the number '72' on his cap.
