Brief Description
Postcard featuring a sepia-toned photograph of Fairy Bower near Manly Beach in 1911, with a surf boat at a carnival. A number of bathers stand in the surf in the foreground, and a large number of spectators line the promenade. The card is labelled at bottom left 'SURF BOAT. MANLY / * PHOTO Co.' Letter written on reverse reads "Dear Mr Beaurepaire, Mr Easterbrook kindly gave me your message, & I would be delighted to exchange P.Cs. with you. I will send you some Manly views if you wish. This is one of the "Surf Boat (sic), at the first Carnival we had. (The Canadian Costume wasn't worn then as you see). Yours Sincerely, E. Sly. / Fairy Bower / Manly." Dated 8/4/11.
