Brief Description
Oblong gold medal with suspension ring won by Frank Beaurepaire for 1st place in the Men's 1 Mile swim in Hawaii on 26th May, 1921. Obverse features a low relief map of Hawaii and text that reads "HAWAIIAN ISLANDS / AAU". It is surrounded by a border with text that reads "MAY SWIMMING MEET / HONOLULU HARBOR 1921". Reverse inscription reads "ONE MILE SWIM / F.E. BEAUREPAIRE / WORLDS [sic] RECORDS / 1000 METERS 14 MIN 28 SEC. / 1,500 METERS 21 MIN 54-4/5 SEC. / 1 MILE 23 MIN. 30-4/5 SEC. / MAY 26, 1921.".
