Brief Description
Letter, small, single page; written on 27 December 1935 to Donald Mackintosh by Rudyard Kipling: "Dear Mr Mackintosh, / Thank you for your nice / friendly letter of the 10th which / came in on Christmas Day. // I hope Mr. Slade's tale of the / bookshop is true but I don't remem- / ber when I was at Melbourne that I / had much leisure to read anything. / I was having too good a time. // Aberdeens are more or less / little "deevils" but they are the / best sort of "deevils" that I know. // With all good wishes for the / coming year, / Very sincerely, / Rudyard Kipling." Typed, cream paper, "BURWASH / ETCHINGHAM" letterhead. Accompanying envelope is 1987.1695.23.
