Brief Description
Bronze oval medal with blue, white and red ribbon won by W. Williams (shooter) in a competition between the M.R.C. and an American Fleet in 1908. Obverse features a wreath framing two crossed rifles surmounted by a panel bearing Melbourne's Coat of Arms in red and white enamel. It is surrounded by a navy belt border with text that reads "MELBOURNE RIFLE CLUB". Text in legend reads "NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION / GREAT BRITAIN". Reverse inscription reads " M.R.C. v. AMERICAN FLEET 1908 / W. WILLIAMS". Ribbon attached by suspension ring at top.
